The Future of Finance

Financial Times (ft.com) has issued a series of publications, examining the lessons from the crisis, changes to the regulatory and market, and looking for new opportunities (www.ft.com/reports/futureoffinance). Crisis on markets, and regulatory changes, threaten not only banks, obviously - but the question is how dramatic will be changes in the industry. The biggest challenge, in our view, not that businesses' values and processes, well tailored to the 'old' system, currently mostly obsolete for quite many industries: insurers and funds, manufactiring and service, to name a few. Though processes may be changed quite fast, the foundations - the 'values', which are based to a great extent on expectations and beliefs, are constantly subject to test nowadays. Returning to simplicity, as many analysts suggest, or returning to anything we accustomed to before the crisis (like big bonuses to banks' top management, some try to revive ...), is not a way to new opportunities. Albeit, more and more pundits argue the crisis is over, the customer (and consumer ...) is not the same anymore ... Really? So, where are the opportunities? We'll keep looking for. Look in at our pages and events.
